Mount St. Joseph University Is One of the First Nine Higher Education Programs Nationwide to be Accredited by the International Dyslexia Association

The Reading Science Program at Mount St. Joseph University is an International Dyslexia Association (IDA) accredited program with three program options: Ohio Reading Endorsement, Dyslexia Certificate, and Master’s Degree. All three program options are designed for busy educators in a fully online format that attracts graduate students from across the nation. The current program has students from 33 different states and 3 countries. The Reading Science program follows a scientifically-based reading research model and fully covers IDA’s Knowledge and Practice Standards for the preparation of teachers of reading. Coursework includes LETRS (Language Essentials in Teaching Reading and Spelling) developed by Dr. Louisa Moats and training in the Orton Gillingham Multi-Sensory approach to reading instruction (basic and advanced). The curriculum in the Reading Science program provides graduate students the skills to implement evidence-based, systematic, explicit reading instruction and intervention for all students in grades preK – 12th grade.
